I don't really have anything to say tonight, although it's cozy here, I've turned on the twinklies and the electric fireplace. I'm high enough I can leave my curtains open, watch the rain transform the city. The little dog is asleep on her window ledge. Yellow light from the Edison lamp spills over my notebook with its list of poets and checkmarks and pages of poetic terms and prompts. My mobile device chimes in Brahms, letting me know it's bedtime. But I resist waiting for a few more words enjoying the fidelity of an evening at home.
This was the last of my Poem-A-Day poems for April. I rarely make it to the 30 day mark - but I’m happy to have 15 new poems to edit and file away.
If you’re an aspiring poet I wanted to share this in order to show that not all poems have to be big poems - sometimes a moment in time is big enough.
