I’ve been thinking lately, what does a poet do with all her poems once she turns 70? It’s not something I worried about at 20 or even 40, yet now here I am. A dropbox full of bits and pieces and a diminishing share window. But recently I’ve been enjoying other writers on Substack so I thought, ok, let’s do this!
This substack will be mostly poetry. I’ll post when I can, maybe we’ll work through themes. There are lots of poems about my dog, my cat, the Squamish River, the wind, all my grand love affairs, driving, mothering - I dunno, it’s always random. Should I include photos? Videos? Maybe!
The Night Before Snow is a collection of wintry poems which I self-published in 2018. The Rising Song of You is a collection of poems about love (and loss) that I am currently putting together and will self-publish sometime this year. In My Pocket is where you’ll find random poetry that hasn’t found a landing place. It will also be where I post my most recent poems.
Over the years, I’ve had blogs, websites, and even a Patreon. My plan for this Substack is to gather everything in one place.
