I'm warming up the pea and hamĀ
soup, listening to piano jazz
on the television, the dog and I
have just returned from our walk
down a row of sun soaked Caucasian Ash.
Family was here this morning
eating eggs and sausage
sipping champagne and orange juice
they left behind a plate
of Easter cupcakes topped
with a blue swirl of icing
so I'm eyeballing them
at the moment, marvelling
at how little elseĀ there is
in my brain right now
just the gift
of this peaceful space
and the gratitude
that fills every corner.
This NaPoWriMo I didnāt make it past 7 days. Busyness crept in. But todayās poem was the first. How was your poem-a-day 2024? Four more days!
Home-poems are a gift for sure! This one just glows.
Missed a few days but not many so far in GloPoWriMo -- some of the results are "Well, that was fun, bye," but more of them could really be poems when they grow up. My first year trying the poem-a-day challenge!
